Itential Automation Platform (IAP) is a multi-tier platform focused on improving network operations. It consumes APIs of southbound systems and presents these capabilities to our application layer to be combined in new ways.
The strength of IAP lies in its ability to provide unified workflow and management capabilities across multiple southbound systems and networks. IAP provides an extensible platform for management of multi-vendor/multi-technology environments.
Examples of applications built on IAP are shown in the following table.
Application | Description |
---|---|
Configuration Manager | Manage network devices and configurations. Including, Golden Configuration tree management, compliance reporting, and remediation. |
Service Management | Focusing on the life cycle of services, this solution addresses the complexity of managing services that extend across a plethora of devices. |
Golden Services | While Service Management performs create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) operations on service instances, Golden Services manages the migration of services across versions. |
Note: For information on IAP Service Properties and Syslog Configuration, please go to the Admin Essentials Applications guide.
About Deployment
Cloud deployment patterns are commonly categorized in two sections: distributed and redundant. A Cloud platform can use the deployment patterns in subsequent installations and configuration sections. Itential has tested IAP deployments on AWS (Amazon Web Services) and GCP (Google Cloud Platform). For an AWS implementation, Itential used the services MongoDB Atlas, AWS MQ for Rabbit, and AWS Elasticache for Redis to meet the database and caching requirements instead of installing each service separately.
